I feel your pain. I'm going to one in July with my new and improved worldly husband. been out for 2 years also. not DA or DF but they sure would like to find a reason too.... I think some people will be sincerly happy to see you, some will give you that fake happy to see you, some will ignore you, and maybe someone will ask what is stopping you from returning to Jehovah... my favorite is the LOOK.... with almost tears in there eyes they say "I miss you" and I just love to be happy when I run into one... They hate to see someone happy that left!!!

Hmm this could be tricky - I am going to a JW wedding.
by The Scotsman inyes a close family member of mine is getting married next weekend and me and mrs scotsman have been invited.. to set the scene - i have not been to a meeting in 2 years, 2 months and for mrs scotsman it is just under 2 years - so we have not seen any of our ex jw associates since then - but they will all be at the wedding!!!!.
we are not dad or dfd so they will be able to talk to us if they feel the urge.. the good thing is we are not the only ex jws/non jws going, so this will help.. the worry i have is what some of these jws might try.
for many of them, the last time they seen me i was an elder flying the wt flag - now i am out the truth dead at armageddon!.

Can a Jehovah's Witness nurse/doctor administer a blood transfusion?
by ThomasCovenant inhave the watchtower society said/printed that witnesses who are medical staff are not allowed to participate in the blood transfusion process?

surely they would not showing proper respect for blood and would that be a disfellowshipping offence?.

Not making plans for the future, as in Nowhere Man?
by dgp ini understand jehovah's witnesses are always told that "the time left is reduced" and armageddon is "just around the corner".
i understand that so many people have put off dental work, or medical assistance of other kinds, because of this.
i don't mean to offend anyone here.

in several threads ive read, ppl make comments to the effect that theres no point leaving money to jws, because they would just leave the money to the wts anyway.. .
this is an assumption that i believe is a generalisation.. .

Most Annoying Things That Happen At JW Meetings
by LittleSister intoday i was remembering how angry i used to get at the meetings and all the little irritations that in the end would just make my blood boil these included:.
prayers that go on foreverstudy or wt conductors still taking comments when its clear that the point has been covered 20 times alreadymeetings over running by more than 5 minsmy favourite was this one elder who would play guess the point i am thinking of.
he would keep rephrasing the question from the wt until someone would bring up the point he was thinking of.

Handling the negative emotions after leaving - suggestions please
by cult classic insince leaving a few years ago, i have experienced the gamut of emotions, both good and bad.
one that seems particularly difficult to manage is the shame and embarrassment i feel for having taking it seriously all my life.
why wasn't i thinking?

I loved releasing the bonds my Steve Hassan's... I get the anger feeling and some times real bad!!! but every time I go through a spell I try to look at it as one step closer to healing!!! The wave of feelings are so intense!!!

i was a demon freek!!! had some "experiances" not sure what they were now but have not had any sence I left. I no longer fear the demons. If there are such things fear gives them control!!! When I was "in" i was the type to burn things I was convinced were demonized!!!

by Wasanelder Once ini know it sounds strange but all the jw's i have contact with are no longer "encouraging" me to attend meetings.
in fact not one of them invited me to the memorial even though we had dinner together at my house three nights before.
i think i have them totally bamboozled with my reasoning why i don't attend.
